Sometimes you need a rest! Beaches and sunbathing islands in the Danube Bend

Take a break between all the activities and attractions! Look for a quiet stretch of beach where you have some leisure time safely and close to nature!

Lake Palatinus: The artificial mine lake is the largest in the Dorog basin and one of the cleanest in Hungary, where you can also go diving. Relax on the sandy plaza, try out the new slide and enjoy the panoramic view of the surrounding heights! Don't forget to visit the exciting diving museum. Information on admission to the Lake Baths can be found here.

The public beach of Dunabogdány: The quiet beach on the river branch of Szentendre is one of the most popular bathing spots in the area. The water at the sandy beach is slowly deepening, making it safe even for small children. If you can, use a bike or take a bus to travel there, since parking is difficult.

Szigetcsúcs: The northernmost tip of the Szentendre Island, where the two branches of the Danube divide. On the 600-metre-long pebble beach, the infrastructure consist only of watering cans suspended from tree branches for showering, but the huge shady trees, the tranquility and the mountain views make up for the lack of amenities.

The public beach of Horány: It is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Danube Bend, far away from the noise of the towns, where you don't have to give up the comfort of toilets, changing rooms and snack shacks. You can also play volleyball, football and badminton on the 150-metre-long beach, but there is only limited shade, so it's worth bringing a parasol!
