Cycling on pilgrim trails

A nearly 900-kilometer-long, safe-to-use cycling route connects the religious shrines of Győr-Moson-Sopron, Komárom-Esztergom, as well as the counties of Trnava and Bratislava in Slovakia. On the pilgrimage route called SacraVelo, which also includes our archdiocese Esztergom — Budapest, we can discover the sacred values of the area on two wheels in a natural environment, covering short distances.

In the county of Komárom-Esztergom the designated bicycle pilgrim trail stretches for a total of 241 kilometers, on this route of which we can visit 38 settlements and 5 Marian shrines. There are 42 resting places along the trail, and you’ll find information boards at 13 locations to help you get to the cultural and religious attractions of the small settlements. By scanning the QR codes which are to be found on the boards, you can get more information about a particular attraction on the SacraVelo website, where you can choose from ready-made themed itineraries as well as you can plan your own tour.

Tip: Plan your tour on your mobile!

Download the Sacravelo app, where you can even choose the distance of the planned cycle. The map route can be saved to your phone so you can use it offline as well while on a tour.
